Dr. Norcott here!

I translate the psychology of connection into practical insight—on stage, in organizations, and in the media. I want people to feel more understood, more empowered, and more connected to each other.

Bio

Candice Norcott, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, national consultant, and public speaker who

helps individuals and organizations harness the power of relationships to improve communication, well-

being, and connection. An alum of Brown University and the University of Connecticut, she completed her

pre- and post-doctoral training in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University.

Drawing on her extensive clinical experience and years of supporting high-performing professionals,

Candice focuses on the communication habits, psychological patterns, and cultural forces that shape how

people relate to one another. Her work translates relational psychology into practical, accessible strategies

that strengthen collaboration, belonging, and social health across a wide range of settings.

Candice serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at

the University of Chicago, where she provides trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and culturally attuned

psychiatric services to patients referred by Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also leads well-being initiatives

as the Director of Graduate Medical Education Well-Being, supporting physicians and trainees through

programs grounded in connection, psychological safety, and relational resilience.

A sought-after speaker, Candice presents internationally on trauma, gender, race, and the relational

foundations of well-being. She appeared in the Emmy-nominated Lifetime docuseries Surviving R. Kelly and

was a recurring expert on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, offering insight on the impact of sexual

trauma and the cultural narratives that shape it.

Whether she is training teams in relationship-centered communication, advising leaders on building

cultures of belonging, or speaking to audiences about the impact of trauma on connection, Candice brings

clarity, empathy, and evidence-based guidance. She consults with corporations, nonprofits, universities,

and women’s leadership programs to create environments where real connection can thrive.
